Curve keeps the kudos coming
Leicester’s state-of-the-art performing arts centre Curve has won two more top industry awards.
The £61 million theatre complex in Rutland Street scooped the two awards at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) East Midlands Quality Awards ceremony last month.
It took the awards for Best Technical Design and Construction and also for the Best Large Commercial Development.
Curve will now go forward to the national finals of the contest, which will be held in London in October.
In May 2009, Curve won a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) regional award in recognition of its substantial contribution to the environment. It has now made the mid-list of 20 buildings in competition for the RIBA Sterling Prize.
