Jennie Fletcher was a British freestyle swimmer who competed in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics.
While Jennie’s swimming achievements were outstanding, set in the social context of the time, they were nothing short of remarkable. In 1906, 2,000 people attended Cossington Street Baths to witness Jennie become the new English 100 yards swimming champion.
At the 1912 Olympic Games, Jennie won a gold medal in the relay.
