About Phoenix Square

About Phoenix Square

Phoenix Square plays a major part in Leicester City Councils wider plans to develop the St Georges area into a culturally diverse and creative focal point, recognised as the ‘Cultural Quarter’ of the city. This high quality sustainable development is the latest addition to the area which has become a cultural hub complementing the opening of the Curve in 2008.

Phoenix Square will aim to provide long term employment opportunities through the delivery of both commercial premises for new and growing businesses and the cinema, gallery and cafe/bar.

The building is due to be completed August 2009 and is supported by public and private sector partners Blueprint, Leicester City Council, Leicester Shire Economic Partnership and De Montfort University. The project is also supported by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund.
