Making it Real - 30th April 2008
On the 30th April 2008 the Leicester Partnership held an event at the Walkers Stadium for people working in the front line in the public and voluntary sector. The purpose of the event was to help develop action plans to meet the targets in our new Local Area Agreement. Around 200 people attended. The day was participative, creative, intense, and according to many who were there, enjoyable too!
The first event was hosted by Philip Parkinson, the Chair of the Leicester Partnership, and led by Sheila Lock, Leicester City Council's interim Chief Executive.
At the event, Sheila stressed that making the Local Area Agreement real is all about everyone working together. And she said the challenge now is to keep up the momentum created on the day by studying and responding to the feedback in detail, and maintaining the buzz and energy of involvement as a new way of working together in Leicester for the future.
The hard work of capturing, organising and responding to the many points put forward is now in progress. At the bottom of this page you can download reports which contain all the information that was put forward at the event. Now, we are asking each of the Leicester Partnership's delivery groups to respond to the event output and start to look at how they can incorporate the information into strategic plans.
