Leicester's New Arrivals Strategy

Leicester has a long and proud reputation as a welcoming city for new communities and a city with a record of positive community relations.

New arrival communities coming to Leicester are not a homogenous group, but whether it is for a long or short-term settlement the people of this city are committed to making Leicester a home for everyone.

The city’s new arrivals strategy that was agreed by the Leicester Partnership, the city’s strategic partnership, in 2006 provides a framework for organisations and individuals to achieve this and the vision.

“The smooth settlement and harmonious integration of new arrivals in Leicester to achieve maximum quality of life.”

The strategy links to the city’s Community Cohesion Strategy and is overseen by the New Arrivals Strategy Group.
