Celebrate the opening of Highcross Leicester with an exciting cultural programme of live music, dance and the arts. An exhilarating afternoon full of exciting performances by professional artists from the city and region in one of Leicester's newest landmark buildings.

St Peters Square 1pm - 3pm


  • 1pm, 2.55pm: Ann Oliver Stage School perform the 'One Passion One Leicester' dance routine.
  • 1pm, 2pm: Birds of Paradise - Expert stiltwalker Luci Dalziel presents her beautiful Bird of Paradise costume; bright, colourful, and very striking. A spectacular addition to any environment.
  • 1.05pm, 1.40pm: Tumbellina - This acrobatic act, so hauntingly beautiful, transporting you into a magical other-world. Laden in crystal and rare jewels, she reveals angelic, super-natural wings - hypnotising as they spiral and continually evolve, giving flight to this fantastic acrobatic dance.
  • 1.15pm: Leicester Belgrave Mela presents Boogie Woogie - The UK's most talented Bollywood dancers and international champions.
  • 1.30pm, 2.20pm: Samba Dancers - Performances that will spice up the party with some authentic Latin flavour. Using the traditional dances of South America the Latino boys and girls execute a brilliantly choreographed routine.
  • 1.50pm: Leicester Community Gospel Choir - Leicester's leading gospel choir sing two songs lead by director Basil Dixon.
  • 2:05pm: Leicester Belgrave Mela present 'The Best of Leicester' - Performances by Hiten Mistry; International Bollywood Dance Champion, Simran Shah; Junior Bollywood UK Dance Champion, and Bizzi; Leicesters own RnB sensation.
  • 2.30pm: Lancaster Boys Choir - as featured on BBC series “The Choir”
  • 2.40pm: Leicester Belgrave Mela present 'Bollywood Rhythm' - A performance of stunning dance scenes from Bollywood films.
