What is the onepass scheme about?
The onepass scheme is an initiative, aimed at people over the age of 60. It is unique because it uses the free bus pass (in most cases, see below) as the “flash card” for entitlement to discounts. Existing card holders/new applicants will receive a “pack” with a wallet to put their bus pass in. The wallet will include a map of the city centre and a booklet naming all participating venues. The website will be updated to reflect new offers coming in and participating venues may display a sticker to show they are part of the scheme.
When is the onepass scheme launching?
The pack distribution began w/c 24th May 2010 to existing 60+ bus pass holders.
Is the scheme only applicable to pensioners who apply or to all pensioners?
All city pensioners that hold a current bus pass (40,000) will automatically receive the pack during w/c 24th May 2010. After this, all new eligible 60+ applicants can receive a pack from Leicester City Council Customer Services on application.
Most 60+ people will be able to apply when applying for a bus pass. However, because the eligibility criteria for senior citizens changed from 6th April 2010, you may be in a situation where you are not eligible for a bus pass, but you are entitled to onepass. If this is the case, you can apply for onepass at Customer Services. Just use your ‘onepass’ plus other from of I.D (e.g. driving license, utility bill) when taking advantage of the onepass scheme.
Is onepass applicable to pensioners living outside the City of Leicester?
Currently, this scheme is for Leicester city residents who are 60+ .
