One Rhythm Dance Festival Grand Finale - Timetable: Your guide to what’s on and where:
HIGHCROSS LEICESTER - ST PETERS SQUARE
- 3pm: Opening speech.
3.10pm:
Parade starts – St. Peters Square to Humberstone Gate (
see map for route).
Local dance groups unite to perform along the parade route through the city streets, led by a huge 10m long inflated caterpillar. You could even join in!
HUMBERSTONE GATE STAGE 3pm – 7pm
3pm: Big Screen - watch live footage of the parade.
4pm: Heart 106 FM presenters Amy and ‘Dangerous Dave’ introduce the Guinness World Records™ dance attempt, and the stage show performers.
4.30pm: Ann Oliver Stage School – perform the ‘One Passion - One Leicester’ dance routine.
4.40pm: Bollywood performances by current UK Boogie Woogie Bollywood Dance champions - Khavita Kaur Rendhawa and Arati Menon.
4.45pm: Lancaster Boys - as featured on BBC series ‘The Choir' perform their urban sounds.
5pm: Black Eagles - incredible acrobatic dance routines set to lively African music in a high impact show!
5.25pm: Kali Dass – internationally renowned South Asian dancer performs 'Elev8'.
5.30pm: The Polesie Polish Dance Group - Polish folk dance.
5.50pm: El Mahico - 5 piece band playing Hot Latin rhythms mixed with Hip Hop grooves.
6.15pm: Hoop La La – as featured on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – acro-balance, dance and, of course, Hula-hooping!
6.20pm: Leicester College – contemporary dance routines.
6.25pm: Surge Dance Company - an exclusive set of high energy, dynamic street dance.
6.30pm: Optioscopes – dazzling tempests perform an elegant dance routine in illuminated costumes.
6.40pm: Addict Dance Company in association with Leicester College – perform urban dance fusion.
6.45pm: Spectacular fireworks display.
HUMBERSTONE GATE, GALLOWTREE GATE & HIGH STREET AREA 3pm – 7pm
3.15pm & 5.45pm: Group Senzala Leicester Capoeira – Brazilian dance and martial arts.
3.25pm & 6.05pm: Optioscopes – (see 6.30pm above)
4.30pm: Bill Brookman & Friends – maypole, clog & gypsy dancing with hoops.
4.30pm & 5.10pm: Heir of Insanity - a beautiful aerial act fusing circus skills with the harmony of dance.
4.45pm & 5.25pm: Fire on Pointe - ballet inspired fire dancing act.
6.25pm: Heir of Insanity - The Star Bubble; an act centred on a revolving podium inside a large transparent bubble.
